Who Am I
Greetings, I'm Kamilo Arenas, a multifaceted artist hailing from the enchanting landscapes of the Colombian mountains, and I currently call Miami, Florida, my creative home. With a diverse skill set spanning filmmaking, creative direction, and acting, I've journeyed through life with a fervent passion for the performing arts.
My artistic odyssey began in the vibrant backdrop of Colombia, where, as a child and teenager, I wholeheartedly immersed myself in the world of performing arts. Embracing the roles of both an actor and a circus performer, I learned the ropes of captivating audiences through the magic of live entertainment. My journey led me to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in performing arts, which nurtured my artistic talents and propelled me towards a future filled with audacious dreams. With an unwavering determination to reach for the stars, I made the pivotal decision to transplant my talents and aspirations to the United States. It was in Miami, Florida, that I found my artistic haven and honed my craft even further. At Miami Dade College, I delved into the intricacies of film production, unlocking the secrets of weaving compelling narratives and crafting stunning visuals. It was here that I refined my skills, and my passion for the cinematic arts was further ignited.
Since my transformative time at Miami Dade College, I've been fortunate to play pivotal roles as a Director, Director of Photography (DP), and Assistant Director in an array of projects. My creative journey has taken me into the world of TV films, music videos, and short films, each offering a unique canvas for my artistic expression. These experiences have only deepened my love for storytelling and the captivating power of the visual medium.
My artistic philosophy is steeped in a profound desire to push the boundaries of creativity in this modern era. With each project, I'm driven to craft immersive experiences that leave an indelible mark on audiences. The excitement of bringing ideas to life on the screen and delivering narratives that resonate with the human experience fuels my creative fire. My aim is to transport viewers to new realms, spark their imaginations, and evoke emotions that linger long after the final credits roll.
